Ideas websites HalfBakery: describes itself as "a communal database of original, fictitious inventions, edited by its users, maintained by a dictatorial cabal of volunteers". Is a lot of fun, and has an active community who thrive on creative expression and satire. Premises, Premises: the aim of this site is to provide a protected forum where people can buy, sell, and share good original ideas at low prices. Essentially a peer-enforced marketplace for ideas. Run by GIB supporter Paul Spinrad, who has a good overview of ideas sites in his FAQ. Should Exist: aims to bring ideas and people together to "build prototypes of things that would make the world a better place". Quite a few good ideas, mostly technology or internet-based. Creativity Pool: a database of original ideas and creative thoughts, in which people are 'rewarded' if their idea is taking up. Tricky to load up & navigate (at least on the GIB's aged Mac). LazyWeb: a blog-format idea exchange for tech/internet solutions.... Quality of ideas varies, but can be inspired. Bright Idea: has three areas: share, compete and develop.....claims to be the "World's Most Active Idea Exchange", which HalfBakery and ourselves might argue over, but it certainly has a fair bit going on. Business-y aims and feel, though professional and well-designed. InventorBase: a new forum-based site for inventors and others to discuss and collaborate on products, ideas and inventions.
